From Cheesy to Trendy
Ok. Let's face it. Even mega trend spotter Audrey thought these songs were very cheesy, until... well, until until some unknown spell transformed them into Trendy, with a capital T.  Abracadabra, enjoy.

Nova Party
Besides fashion, perfumes, dating, love, food, traveling and competitive fishing, Audrey knows a thing or two about music.
We are talking here about real music. Not the kind you dance on one summer, not the romantic kind you had your first kiss on... no, music for true connoisseurs.

Vitamins and Minerals
When Audrey goes to the gym or for the occasional jog, she never forgets her water, pepper spray (don't ask) and her super vitamins songs. These are sure to give you that extra boost you need to showoff to that annoying, and over performing treadmill neighbor.

Kusturica & The No Smoking Orchestra

Emir Kusturica is the renowned Serbian filmmaker who is the only director apart from Francis Ford Coppola to win the highest prize at the Cannes film festival twice. Some of his classic titles include "The Time of the Gypsies" and "Underground," and when he isn't busy being the controversial film director, he is on tour with his band: The No Smoking Orchestra.

This Sarajevo band was first formed in the early 1980s, and their debut album "Das Ist Walter" sold very well and paved the way for the hit "Zenica Blues," which sold an impressive 100,000 copies. However, this early success was cut short for a while when the band faced a crackdown from the government at the time, which prevented concert appearances and general distribution of their albums.

The No Smoking Orchestra continued to experience censorship issues, and it almost finished the band. But it was all this controversy that initially attracted Emir Kusturica to the group, and he became the bass player, although, he left shortly after signing the contract because he had the opportunity to work on "The Time of the Gypsies."

Kusturica rejoined the band again in the late 1990's when he wanted music for his film "Black Cat, White Cat." The soundtrack they produced was a whimsical and melodramatic score that aptly represented the film, and it was this collaboration that brought Kusturica back to the band, only this time as a guitarist. And this director turned musician has been a part of The No Smoking Orchestra ever since.

Emir Kusturica and The No Smoking Orchestra appeal to a wide audience because they are jolly and energetic on stage, and their music transcends language differences. People from Tokyo, Buenos Aires, Moscow, St Petersburg, Berlin, New York, London, Paris, Madrid and of course Sarajevo all enjoy their music. In fact, all their fans simply want to get up and dance when they hear the band perform.

The New Album

"Corps Diplomatique" is The No Smoking Orchestra's brand new album. It features 11 songs, which include fun titles like "Hamburger Versa Kebab," "Cerveza (Beer)" and "Scared of Dental Drills." The album is available for download and can be purchased from all good music shops.

French Touch Music

The French language is music to most people's ears because it sounds so beautiful and eloquent. So, it's hardly surprising that the French have the magic touch when it comes to creating music. As you would expect, Paris has a thriving music scene and is also home to the popular Pitchfork Music Festival that is enjoyed by millennials who like “avant –garde” and underground music.

Balkan Underground

Music has the ability to bring people together from all countries, and this is especially evident in the Balkans where people from all over the world gather to sing and dance to Balkan beats. I think the reason why Balkan underground music is so popular is because it is a funky combination of expressive lyrics and interesting rhythms, with a modern electronic beat.

I remember attending the Balkan underground music scene back in the early '90s. Local people and tourists would gather to play tunes and sing together. It was such a fun time. It was definitely the "golden age" of the underground music scene because, regardless of where we came from, we all felt a connection through the music.

Kusturica's influential film "Underground" introduced Balkan brass and Gypsy music to the world and the trend spread to clubs in Western Europe. Now, the Balkan underground music scene had arrived in Berlin, Paris, London, Lisbon, Madrid, Vienna, and Rome, and the music enthusiasts loved it. This genre of music was no longer confined to the Balkans -- it was starting to spread across the world.

The music that the young Balkan generation produces today is a diverse mix of music. It includes electro, harsh noise, metal, punk and post-punk. Many of the new artists are influenced by the popular art magazine "LIBRARION," which frequently releases new tracks along with a new issue. The tracks are fun and funky and resonate with the youth.

Southern Soul Festival -- Set on a beautiful beach in Ulcinj, Montenegro, this long-awaited festival features underground names and a diverse selection of soul, funk, jazz and disco. This four-day event will begin at the end of June.

Exit Festival -- This Serbian music festival has been going strong since 2000. There are more than 20 stages and some of the music industry's biggest names will be performing there. It starts on July 12, 2018, and finishes on July 15, 2018.

Positivus Festival -- As the name suggests, this Latvian festival is full of positive music. It started in 2007 and has become one of Europe's popular music festivals. It is personally one of my favorites because you get a great experience and leave there feeling energized. It starts on July 20, 2018.
